Judgment of Davis

The Judgment of Davis is a landmark blind wine tasting competition that will be held at the Robert Mondavi Sensory Theater at UC Davis on Monday, May 18, 2026—the day before the main Vine to Mind program begins—in honor of the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Judgment of Paris. The event will feature two 90-minute tastings of 10 wines each (4 from California, 6 from the rest of the world). The wines will be judged in person by an expert panel of 10 of the world’s leading wine authorities, including top critics from Wine Advocate, Decanter, and Wine Bible author Karen MacNeil.

A limited number of ticketed guests will also get the opportunity to attend the event, taste and rate the same wines as the expert judges, and witness the moment when the winning wines are revealed. Registered Vine to Mind attendees are entitled to purchase tickets at a discount. The first small batch of tickets have now been released through the Judgment of Davis website, which contains additional information about the event. When tickets sell out, we will open a waitlist in case additional seats become available.
